Description:Teen Challenge helps men, women and children with life-controlling problems. Life controlling problems are exactly what the name suggests: problems that control a person's life. They include drug and alcohol abuse, behavioral reactions to sexual and physical abuse and other problems. Teen Challenge helps the whole person in spiritual, emotional, physical, social and educational perspectives.

AREAS SERVED: We serve Santa Cruz County, Monterey County, and San Benito County but candidates are accepted from all over.
Mission:The purpose of Teen Challenge Monterey Bay, is to "evangelize people who have life-controlling problems and initiate the discipleship process to the point where the student can function as a Christian in society applying spiritually motivated biblical principles to relationships in the family, local church, chosen vocation and the community. Teen Challenge endeavors to help people become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well and spiritually alive."

The Freedom Women's Center is a faith-based, non-profit, residential discipleship/recovery program for women with life-controlling problems, including (but not limited to) drug and alcohol abuse. Our current population is 12+ women. 724-2898 fwcinfo@teenchallengemb.org

The Pajaro Induction Center for men is a faith-based, non-profit, residential discipleship/ recovery program for men with life-controlling problems, including (but not limited to) drug and alcohol abuse. Our current population is 30+ men.

Equipment:
Volunteer Info:Volunteer Coordinator: Helps Program Director recruit and train volunteers, selection process, and match volunteers with volunteer opportunities.
Receptionist: Answer phones and greet the general public. Assemble information packets.
Maintenance/Landscape Workers: Help maintain the grounds and home by completing repairs and landscaping (mowing, planting flowers)
Educators: Conduct various educational sessions. (life skills and parenting classes) For example: money management, budgeting, anger management, nutrition, computer courses
Grant Writers: Conduct research for funding opportunities and write grant proposals.
CPA/Bookkeeper: Provide bookkeeping and auditing services.
Blessing Closet Coordinator: Organize donated clothes and personal hygiene items for residents.
Technology Consultant: Provide technical assistance for computer problems.
Special Events Coordinator and Volunteers: Coordinate special events. Help plan special events.
Chaperones/Drivers for Church Service: Drive women to church on Wednesday night and Sunday morning services.
Drivers: Help transport residents to medical appointments.
