|Programs:||Kinship Care is the temporary placement of children in a safe, nurturing family environment with relatives or extended family members, when their parents cannot care for them. If possible, foster children are returned to their birth families, or through adoption, placed permanently with another family. Kinship care provides 24-hour care until the child can be reunited with his/her parents or adopted by another family.
Transitional Housing Plus (THP Plus) is a supportive housing program serving former foster and probation youth between the ages of 18-24. Youth obtain independent housing in the community and receive support from THP Plus Coordinators as they work on independent living goals. By offering services in a real life environment, the program promotes the self-confidence and financial stability necessary for youth to succeed in independent living.
