|Mission:||The goal of the Homeless Services Center is to provide emergency, transitional, and permanent supportive housing services to homeless individuals and families that will enable our clients to achieve self- sufficiency.|
Paul Lee Loft Shelter & Winter Shelter Program: Emergency-shelter service on the HSC campus for 46 adults, 365 days per year. During the winter months, additional shelter is provided at the National Guard Armory with shuttle service operating from the HSC campus. To sign up for the Paul Lee Loft, visit the Daytime Essential Services Center between 9am and 4pm, Monday through Friday and fill out an application. Sign up for the Winter Shelter Program begins at 3:30pm each day in front of the Daytime Essential Services Center dining room.
Case Management: Case management services are available to support homeless individuals in establishing a set of goals and a plan to end their homelessness, gain access to medical, mental health, substance abuse treatment, benefits, and other support services needed. There are specialized programs for the chronically homeless, veterans, and those re-entering from jail and other criminal justice settings.
Rebele Family Shelter (RFS):
Emergency housing for a maximum of six months for up to 28 families. The shelter accepts families of all makeups (single fathers, single mothers, and couples with children). Shelter rooms provide single-parent, clustered housing or individual family suites. RFS also provides specialized, trauma-informed support, workshops and other programming for children and parents. Residents of the Family Shelter are required to participate in case management and attend workshops and programs during their stay. RFS is a sober program. Drug testing on entry and as needed is required.
Page Smith Community House (PSCH):
Seven co-housing units provide stable transitional housing for up to 18 months to 40 individual homeless men and women. Individual case management, house meetings, and group education classes support
individuals in re-establishing positive rental histories and gaining financial literacy and life skills necessary to end their homelessness permanently. Case management includes referrals to social services, job placement, public benefits and other supportive services. PSCH supports those in recovery by providing a sober living environment. Drug testing on entry and as needed in required.
Recuperative Care Center (RCC):
A 12 bed outpatient recovery facility on the HSC campus that accommodates homeless patients exiting
hospitals. Services include on-site medical care and case management that help save lives and reduce the cost of extended hospital stays and repeat visits to emergency rooms by homeless individuals. Referrals are made by Dominican and Watsonville hospitals directly to the Homeless Persons' Health Project, who is a partner with Homeless Services Center at the RCC. Individuals may not refer themselves.
Daytime Essential Services Center:
A fixed-site outreach day program that provides basic essential services to individuals experiencing homelessness, including morning and evening meal service, laundry, mail facilities, showers and social-service referrals.
Day Center Office Hours: 10am-4pm Monday-Friday
Meal Service: Breakfast 8am to 9am and Dinner-4pm to 5pm every day
Showers: 8am to 3:30pm Monday thru Friday
Mailroom: 10:30am to 4pm Monday thru Friday (closed for lunch 12-1)
