Description:The Homeless Services Center is dedicated to providing a pathway to housing for homeless individuals and families in Santa Cruz County.

Fees: Most services are free of charge or have a nominal fee. Call for more information.
Mission:The goal of the Homeless Services Center is to provide emergency, transitional, and permanent supportive housing services to homeless individuals and families that will enable our clients to achieve self- sufficiency.
Programs:PAUL LEE LOFT (PLL) is a year round, 30 to 90-day emergency shelter for single men and women. The PLL provides shelter for a total of 50 individuals with 46 dorm style bunk beds, separated by gender, and an additional 4 disabled-access rollaway beds on the ground floor with wheelchair access to toilets and showers. In addition to the shelter, PLL also provides case management, employment assistance, job training services, life skills training, workshops, and support groups.

RFS provides up to 180 days of emergency shelter to households with children. RFS is open to mothers and/or fathers with children and provides stable shelter to 28 families (up to 90 individuals) per night. During their stay at RFS, families are provided family-centered and housing-focused case management, evidence-based, developmentally appropriate parenting education, trauma-informed counseling, arts enrichment programs, and after school supportive programs.

PAGE SMITH COMMUNITY HOUSE (PSCH) is a transitional housing program that provides up to 18 months of supportive transitional housing to 40 individual men and women. The average length of stay is 12-14 months. PSCH provides homeless adults the opportunity and support needed to apply for benefits, attain employment, save money, repair or establish a rental history, while receiving intensive case management services in a community setting that strives to maintain sobriety.

The RECUPERATIVE CARE CENTER (RCC) serves up to 12 homeless adults, providing 24-hour shelter with meals, housekeeping, security, and onsite case management provided by HSC in combination with primary care, including medication management support, clinical social work and case management, provided by Homeless Persons’ Health Project (HPHP).

DAYTIME ESSENTIAL SERVICES CENTER IS AN outreach day program that provides basic essential services to individuals experiencing homelessness. Provides meals, showers, mail service, computer access, and clothing. Offers work-readiness workshops, AA and NA meetings, poetry workshops, and community service and participant volunteer opportunities.

Breakfast: 8am-9am
Dinner: 4pm-5pm

Hours: 8am-4pm
After 4pm: these services are available to those staying in the Paul Lee Loft and individuals who are working and need to shower and clean up after work.

Hours: 10:30am-4pm Monday-Friday (Closed 12-1pm)

Empowerment Center
Access to computers and the support necessary is provided to individuals experiencing homelessness so they might search for jobs, engage in educational opportunities, search for housing, and other tasks that are facilitated through the use of a computer. We also provide, through our work-readiness training program and housing support group, resume development, housing and work application assistance, benefits enrollment support, and more.

180/2020 is a multi-agency community initiative in Santa Cruz County, CA to help men, women, and families who have experienced long-term homelessness turn their lives around. We will help them move into permanent housing with the support services they need to stay housed, thereby changing lives and improving our community.
