Focus: National Immunization Awareness Month
Each year in August, National Immunization Awareness Month is the perfect time to remind parents to make sure older children, preteens, and teens have received all recommended vaccines by the time they go back to school.
In addition we encourage:
- College students to catch up on immunizations before they move into dormitories
- Adults,, including healthcare workers, to learn about vaccines and boosters they may need
- Pregnant women to ask about getting vaccinated to protect newborns from diseases
- Talk to your doctor or for low-cost vaccines, contact local agencies listed under Immunizations
