Description:The Healthy Kids program employs two strategies to achieve its goal of providing comprehensive health insurance coverage for all local children:

First, Healthy Kids utilizes bilingual/bicultural Certified Application Assisters (CAAs) to enroll eligible children age 0-18 into Medi-Cal through outreach, enrollment, and retention activities.

Second, Healthy Kids covers children who are ineligible for Medi-Cal through the locally-funded Healthy Kids Health Plan. The Health Plan covers comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and mental health services, including in- and out-patient hospital visits

ELIGIBILITY: Children are eligible if they:
1. Live in Santa Cruz County
2. Are 18 years of age or younger
3. Have not been covered by employer paid insurance in the last 3 months and
4. Have a family income of no more than 100% of the federal poverty level

Mission:Healthy Kids of Santa Cruz County's goal is to ensure the health and well-being of local children by providing them with health insurance, thereby ensuring access to comprehensive medical, dental, vision and mental health services.
