FIRE STANDARDS, PERMITS & INSPECTIONS:
Fire Prevention is responsible for consulting with and securing the cooperation of individuals and property owners regarding life safety matters, and for inspection and testing of new fire protection equipment installations such as automatic fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems: for enforcement of fire related federal, state and local laws, ordinances and administrative orders for public safety in City schools, public/private institutions and places of public assembly; and for investigation of suspicious fires and/or fires of undetermined origin.
MARINE SAFETY DIVISION:
#1 Municipal Wharf
Lifeguard service is provided during Spring weekends, daily in Summer months and Fall weekends. Service hours are usually from 10am-7pm , but may vary depending on the weather conditions. Service area is from Cowell's Beach to the San Lorenzo River.
FIRE OPERATIONS DIVISION:
Fire Operations is responsible for providing fire suppression, emergency medical services at basic and advanced life support levels; and fire prevention activities for the City of Santa Cruz.
FIRE TRAINING DIVISION:
Training is the most important asset to an effective Fire Department. Our vision is to provide training that enhances our performance that our customers value most and to become renowned and emulated by the Fire Service nationwide.
