The UCSC Arboretum is a research and teaching facility committed to plant conservation and serves both the campus and the public. Its rich and diverse collection, containing representatives of more than 300 plant families, provides beginning students with a broad survey of the plant kingdom.

FEES:$5 for Adults and $2 for Children(6 to 17) and free under 6. Also free to those going only to shop at Norrie's, UCSC students, Friends of the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum members and Arboretum volunteers, members of gardens participating in the American Horticulture Society (AHS), Reciprocal Admissions Program and free on first Tuesday of each month, Community Day.

Docent-lead tours can be arranged by advance request. The $10 per person cost includes admission to the Arboretum.

FUNDING SOURCE: A self-supporting branch of UCSC,
the collections are supported by memberships in the Friends of the Arboretum, annual Fall and Spring Plant Sales, annual Gift and Wreath Sale, proceeds from Norrie's Gift and Garden Shop (open every day 10am-4pm), admission fees, and support from our donors.
Programs:Facilities for growing plants offer students and research faculty opportunities to experiment with living plants. The Arboretum maintains collections of rare and threatened plants of unusual scientific interest.

Arboretum events educate and engage the public about plant diversity and conservation. Many of the Arboretum's activities and programs are described in the Bulletin.

Facilities:The UC Santa Cruz Arboretum comprises approximately 100 acres of gardens and research areas on the University of California Santa Cruz campus. It offers a somewhat rustic setting for weddings and other special events. See the web page for details.
