Downtown Santa Cruz is a "Business Improvement District" established to promote commerce and provide for an environment compatible to doing business in. Business operators in the district contribute an assessment which is allocated by the Downtown Association Board of Directors to further the mission of the Downtown Association. The Board of Directors is comprised of and elected by assessed business owners in Downtown.

ELIGIBILITY: The Board of Directors is comprised of and elected by assessed business owners in Downtown.

AREAS SERVED: Downtown (Front Street to Cedar Street and Laurel Street to River Street.)
Mission:To provide effective leadership in order to create, promote and sustain downtown as a unique and economically viable business, entertainment, social and cultural center.
Programs:Sponsors Downtown Holiday Parade, Street Tree Lighting program, Santa Claus and Carriage Rides, Halloween Treat Yourself Downtown, National Dance Week, A Culinary Event, and sidewalk sales.
Meetings:Downtown Association meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month, excluding December, from 8:30-10:00 at 110 Cooper Street. Meetings are open to all members and participation is greatly encouraged.
