HI-Santa Cruz is a non-profit organization located in the restored 1870's Carmelita Cottages on Beach Hill.

Comprised of five renovated Victorian cottages, HI-Santa Cruz has the ability to sleep up to 45 guests. Available for the individual, couple, family, and group, we host over 7,000 guests per year.

Reservations essential June-September
HI Santa Cruz provides budget accommodations with a communal kitchen and baggage storage to world travelers. Memberships are sold on the premises and information is provided on the 6,000+ hostels available world-wide. The hostel also provides travel information to locals planning to travel abroad or here in the U.S.A. Groups welcome. Preference given to those arriving by bicycle, on foot or by public transportation.

ELIGIBILITY: Membership in Hostelling International is open to all ages. HI Santa Cruz is open only to members of Hosteling International.

FEES: Fixed fees for membership. Adults 18-54 - $28/year, Seniors - $18/yr and youth- free. Free membership for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.

Volunteer Info: Help Staff Our Front Desk: greet, orient, and register guests. Assign beds, sell memberships, interact with guests and meet world travelers!
Join Our Public Relations Committee: staff our booth at community events and festivals
Get Your Green Thumb Dirty: help restore and maintain the gardens surrounding our historic cottages on Beach Hill.
Help plan a calendar of events and activities to introduce our international guests to life in Santa Cruz.
Organize a "Concert in the Park"/Carmelita Coffee House with singing music, poetry reading, storytelling.
