Description:Since 1982, Big Brothers Big Sisters have been changing the way children grow up in Santa Cruz County. By exposing children to new opportunities, volunteer mentors show that options exist, no matter how difficult the child's situation or life experience is currently. Big Brothers Big Sisters' services have been proven effective.

ELIGIBILITY: A desire by the both guardian and child to be a part of the program
- Child age 7-14 years old (or about to turn 7 years old)
- Living in Santa Cruz County
Mission:The Mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to assist children and youth to achieve their highest potential by providing quality mentoring relationships.
Programs:After-School Enrichment Program Watsonville
Minimum Age: 16. Tuesdays 4-6pm and Wednesdays 3:30-5:30pm, volunteers work with children ages 7-12 in academics, sports and fun activities.

Annual fund raising events: Bowl for Kids Sake / Day on the Monterey Bay Regatta
Volunteer Info:For One-to-One Mentoring, Minimum Age: 18. 1 year commitment, must have access to a vehicle.
Volunteer for a few hours, two to four times a month, hanging out with a child/youth that just needs a friend. Play ball, garden, have a bonfire, barbecue, go to the beach, whatever will be fun for you both. You will help your Little Brother or Little Sister grow through some of the most impressionable years of their life.
