Description:The Santa Cruz Fire Department provides emergency services to all it's residents(including UCSC) and visitors that visit Santa Cruz on a daily basis. We respond to structure fires, emergency medical incidents, rescues, water rescues, hazardous materials incidents, automobile fires, wildland fires, as well as providing mutual aid to other local and State agencies. Additionally we provide lifeguard services to both Santa Cruz City and Capitola City beaches.

Fire Operations is responsible for providing fire suppression, emergency medical services at basic and advanced life support levels; and fire prevention activities for the City of Santa Cruz.
