Search Dogs

Individuals and organizations that train and make available to the community dogs who have been certified by the state for search and rescue work following an earthquake, tornado, avalanche, mudslide, cave-in or other disaster in which people are buried in mud, snow or the debris of collapsed buildings. Some disaster dogs are trained to work in water and are called in to help locate people who have drowned.
